This Book will focus on making ventilator changes based on ABG's as well as clinical scenarios. This may cover content for board exams, however, it does not cover board exam test taking strategies. Again, the goal of this book is to better prepare Respiratory Care Clinicians to understand the flow of taking care of critically ill patients and making sound and justified changes/titrations in regard to the ventilator using ABG's and patient's needs as their guide.
What's in the Book:
- 21 Practice Problems (all are short answer)
- Patient scenarios where intubation and mechanical ventilation are needed
- Patient histories
- Ventilator settings
- IBW calculations
- Making Ventilator changes based on ABG's.
- ABG Interpretation
- Escalation of Care and De-Escalation of care for patients (extubation, spontaneous breathing trials, intubation scenarios, ventilator up-titration, ventilator down-titration.
- "Answer Key" book included in package!
This Book will better prepare students with real life clinical knowledge so they can think critically and solve the problems our patients face.
The "Answer Key" book goes hand in hand with the Ventilator Titrations and Scenarios Book and is included in this package! This Book holds thorough explanations for "Ventilator Titrations and Scenarios"
In the "Answer Key" I go through each problem one by one and give detailed answers as to why that is the correct answer. Remember, there are many things we can do to help our patients and I try to give in depth explanations as to the treatment options we have on the table for our patients as well as the titrations we can make on the vent to improve care for them. Attached you will see two sample problems where I go through the answer in detail.
